How Does Invisalign Work?

The Invisalign system uses clear trays instead of metal brackets and wires to gradually move teeth into proper alignment. These clear aligners are custom-made to securely fit your smile for optimal comfort and effectiveness.
When starting treatment, Dr. Gase will use our iTero Lumina™ scanning system to create digital impressions for exceptionally precise treatment.
Throughout the course of treatment:
You will receive new sets of aligners
We will closely monitor your progress every 4–6 weeks during checkups
Patients wear the trays for 20–22 hours each day
Treatment typically lasts 6–18 months, depending on your needs
Commitment to the recommended guidelines can significantly impact results
After the initial treatment period is complete, the results from wearing Invisalign are designed to last a lifetime.

Affordable Invisalign Treatment With Flexible Financing Options
Invisalign treatment costs are comparable to braces, but final prices will vary depending on the specifics of your treatment plan. Fortunately, many insurance providers help cover the cost, just as they do for other orthodontic treatments.
We maintain that quality dental care should be affordable to all, which is why we also offer financing through CareCredit® and LendingClub to help manage out-of-pocket expenses for patients.
The Everyday Benefits
of Invisalign Over Braces
Everyone wants a pleasant smile — and Invisalign can help you achieve it. If you're looking to straighten your teeth, know that Invisalign offers patients several advantages over traditional braces, such as:
Discreet Materials
The aligner trays are composed of clear medical-grade plastic that blends in with your smile. These trays are designed to snugly fit your teeth, making them nearly invisible.
Reduced Treatment Time
Often, patients can complete their treatment in about half the time usually required for braces, which can take up to two or three years.
Greater Patient Comfort
The smooth plastic of the aligners does not irritate lips and gums like rough metal brackets can. This is especially beneficial for patients who participate in sports since they are less likely to suffer cuts and injuries to their mouths.
No Dietary Restrictions
Unlike braces, Invisalign patients are able to take advantage of removable appliances to eat. This eliminates the diet restrictions patients typically face during orthodontic treatment.
Improved Oral Hygiene
Since the clear aligners are removable, patients can better maintain their oral health. You can continue your regular hygiene routine throughout your entire treatment.
Fewer Appointments
With braces, you need frequent dental appointments with an orthodontist for wire tightening. This can be inconvenient and costly. Fortunately, Invisalign requires fewer visits than braces would.

Am I a Good Candidate for Invisalign?
We typically recommend Invisalign for older teenagers and adults, as teeth might still be developing in younger patients. There are a couple of characteristics that make someone an ideal candidate for Invisalign:
Degree of Misalignment
Invisalign is designed to correct mild to moderate tooth misalignment. More severe or complex issues may require more advanced treatment methods.
Adherence to Guidelines
The majority of your treatment takes place without direct supervision from a dentist or orthodontist. It’s crucial to follow your treatment plan closely to achieve your desired orthodontic results.
