EZlase diode laser

Ezlase (Diode lasers) are being used to treat periodontal disease, apthous ulcers and herpetic lesions, and to desensitize teeth. They are used at very low and safe power settings that allow us to remove diseased tissue while leaving healthy tissue alone, at the same time killing bacteria that cause disease and biostimulating the periodontal pocket.

What is a Diode Laser?

The active medium of the diode laser is a semi-conductor P-N junction made in a GaAlAs crystal. A flexible fiber is used to transmit the laser energy to the surgical site. It works best on soft tissues and can cut very precisely with little or no collateral damage depending on the settings used during the surgery.

The Diode laser many times can be used without anesthesia doing very precise anterior aesthetic surgery without causing bleeding or discomfort. It is the best laser for that purpose.

Dental lasers are low-energy-powered units, which are built for general use on the delicate tissue of the mouth. The controlled heat and light of the laser destroys most bacteria and viruses found in the mouth and in general enhances oral health. These lasers are FDA approved and are being used more and more in general dentistry; however there are only a few experienced specialists in the field of laser dentistry.
