Cincinnati Dental Bonding

Bonding is the application of a tooth-colored composite resin to repair a decayed, chipped, fractured, discolored or misaligned tooth. Bonding can be done in a single visit. The procedure is called bonding because the material chemically bonds to the tooth.
After preparation of the tooth, composite resin is applied and shaped to fill in chips, or to correct other problems. The composite resin is then smoothed and polished to match the surrounding teeth. Bonding can be used to improve the appearance of discolored and chipped teeth, to close spaces between teeth and to change the shape and color of teeth. Usually this type of restoration lasts 5-7 years or longer before needing touch-up for wear or discoloration.
